Showcase 5: Comix
Comix spots have almost become an institution in Italy. The spots are made to fit the slogan: “Comix, always unexpected”. This time the spot shows a very funny and unexpected scene in an auction house.
The spot tells the story of an auction where two people battle to win the auction for a beautiful moosehead. The two competing bidders keep overbidding each other and when the bidders’ budgets finally seem exhausted, a mystery bidder suddenly generously outbids the two, for a very understandable reason.
This spot is a very good example of a spot that focuses on reinforcing a brand; the spot aired on virtually all major commercial channels in Italy (Mediaset, MTV, Discovery) including cinema’s and train stations mega screens for a total media investment of € 1.8 million.
